Meet our team

  • Dr. Vikas Dhawan D.C.
As an active, athletic teenager, I suffered from low back discomfort that was always diagnosed as the ‘norm’ for sports-related pain. It wasn’t until 1996 when I began to see a Chiropractor that it was discovered that one of the bones in my lower back hadn’t formed properly and was the actual cause of my pain. With treatment, the discomfort began to ease and my stamina & performance in sports began to increase.

I’d always been interested in science and the human body, with the goal of pursuing a medical career after completion of my Kinesiology undergraduate degree; however, with the introduction to Chiropractic and my acute results, my focus changed to following a more natural path to health care and healing.

I graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 2002, and have since attained an even greater respect for the phenomenal healing powers of the human body. Through my years in practice, I have had great success in treating patients suffering from injuries as a result of motor vehicle accidents, chronic or repetitive strain, sports, and postural imbalances, as well as headaches, and numbness & tingling in the extremities, using soft-tissue techniques in combination with the highly effective Pro-Adjustor technology.

Through my own personal experiences, as well as those of my patients, I have come to firmly believe in a holistic healing approach and a wellness-based practice. True health involves optimal functioning on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
  • Dr. Damien Marion, DC

I was introduced to chiropractic at the young age of 6 months after my parents noticed that I was experiencing discomfort and was having difficulty sleeping. They themselves had recently begun to see a chiropractor, but didn’t think that what he offered to them would be of any use for a six month old child. After explaining the problem, the chiropractor suggested that they bring me in to have a look, as sometimes the birthing process can misalign the pelvis and cause problems. After 1 visit and one small alignment, my discomfort resolved instantly. Amazed my parents were convinced of the importance of a properly aligned spine. I saw my chiropractor regularly after that.

Reaching my teenage years, I became actively involved in weight training and martial arts, which inevitably led to a few injuries as I was going through learning phases. Every injury I sustained was always deftly handled by my chiropractor, who always was able to find the source of my pain in a few short minutes and get me properly adjusted and back to training.
I studied Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo with the intention of attending chiropractic college upon my graduation. I completed my bachelor of science with Honours in 2001, and went on to study chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, which I graduated in 2005.
I moved to Ottawa after graduating to be with my beautiful wife Stephanie, and began private practice. Since that time, I have been able to see the amazing benefits chiropractic care offers to patients, whether they are suffering from sporting injuries, motor vehicle accidents or are just in need of general health and wellness

Jen Langois, RMT

I’ve always been a hugger. Through high school, though I had no knowledge of massage, I was the one people went to when they’d been kicked playing soccer, twisted their ankle running, or kinked their neck in rugby. I never played the sports, but I loved being the ‘go-to-girl’ for making people feel better.
The trend continued after high school when I attended university and decided to become a personal trainer. Now I was working out, getting in shape, and experiencing first hand the injuries and tweaks that come with physical exertion. My knowledge increased, and I began to crave more information about anatomy, injury, and rehabilitation.

University, meanwhile, was not my cup of tea. I craved hands-on learning (literally!) and decided to apply at Algonquin College in the Massage Therapy Program. I graduated in June, 2006, and have been massaging people since. A problem solver by nature, I gravitated towards athletes, gym-goers, and motor vehicle accident clients, who need more than just a back rub.

I love the challenge of different injuries and ailments – in the last few years I have dealt with numerous cases of whiplash, paralysis, tendonitis, fibromyalgia, and everything from carpal tunnel to migraines to marathon injuries.
My philosophy of wellness revolves around awareness and activity. Pain is never normal! The more aware we are of ourselves and what our bodies are trying to tell us, the further we can get from pain. And the more we move – in the gym, playing a sport, taking the dog for a walk – the more we can move, in a pain-free, functional way.

    Tara McDonald. RMT
Tara graduated from Eastern College Massage Therapy Program in her hometown of St. John’s, Newfoundland in 2006. She practiced in a multi-disciplinary for her first 2 years and then went on to own her own clinic in 2008. She worked alongside a Chiropractor and Acupuncturist at this clinic where she developed a keen sense of many different musculoskeletal conditions, namely whiplash, frozen shoulder, and sports injuries.
In 2010, Tara decided to make a move to Orleans, Ontario. Tara is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Her experience and education allow her to tailor each treatment to the patients needs. Her massages are deeply restorative and relaxing. Tara’s focus is on a healthy lifestyle, of which she believes Massage Therapy is an integral part. One of Tara’s favorite aspects of her job are the interactions she has with her clients and being able to contribute positively to their lives.
When not working as a Massage Therapist, Tara is usually riding her road bike around the city, playing a squash game, or taking her puppy for a run in the park. Tara believes leading a healthy lifestyle is the key to a long and happy life.

  • Custom Orthotics

Lack of proper care, ill-fitting shoes and general foot neglect are responsible for the majority of foot problems.
It's important to understand your feet have direct impact on the rest of your body and support you with each step. A small abnormality in foot function can have a large impact on joints higher up in the body, causing pain and discomfort.
When you are running, the pressure on your feet can be three or four times your body weight. Even walking can produce more pressure than the sum of your body weight. The average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day. That adds up to about 115,000 miles in a lifetime or more than four times the circumference of the globe. That is a lot of walking with ill-fitting shoes or painful feet!! In some cases foot ailments can be an early signal of more serious medical problems like arthritis or diabetes. Women have four times as many foot problems as men because they have a long history of wearing high heels and/or pointy toe shoes.
Remember if you are experiencing pain or discomfort in your ankles, knees or hip joints... the direct cause may be the function of your feet or ill-fitting shoes.
  • Equipment

    The GaitScan
System is a revolutionary diagnostic tool for assessing the biomechanics of your gait, particularly how your feet align with the ground when you walk. These measurements provide us with a sophisticated explanation of our patients foot mechanics and assists them with orthotic and/or shoe solutions. Your biomechanical assessment will include standing and walking weight bearing alignment in the lower extremity, inspection of shoe wear patterns and callus formation on your feet and muscle testing for length, strength and balance.
